We are so excited to be offering more classes (and even a production!) in Fall River this year. Last year's experimental classes were a big success and we are looking forward to meeting new families and students this year. 6-week sessions are schedule for the Fall, Winter, and Spring!
Here's a list of the classes offered in Fall River, many of which are exclusive to Fall River and not offered anywhere else!
Acting+Improv Basics with Miss Jen for ages 12-18: In this energetic class, students will learn the basics of acting and improvisation, with the goal of understanding character development, scene study, and finding the light.
Alice in Wonderland with Miss Jen: When Alice follows the White Rabbit down his rabbit hole she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. This Play version will have multiple casts so that more students are featured and have the chance to shine.
Beginner Ukulele for ages 8-11 and 12-18 with Kenny: Beginner Ukulele will introduce kids to the basics of playing the Ukulele. Students will learn three simple chords and basic strumming patterns.
Creative Writing with Miss Sandy: In this class, students will focus on idea creation, the very basis of writing. Using various prompts, the children are encouraged to use their imagination to come up with ideas that they are free to write about in a way that makes sense to them.
Dramatic Discoveries for ages 5-8 with Miss Lynn: This class will tackle the topics of science, music, literature, art, dance and agriculture. Children will be challenging themselves to find creative ways to present research that they have gathered about the predetermined themes.
Hand Sewing for Beginners with Miss Sandy: Join us to learn the running stitch and whip stitch to sew fun and practical items you can give as presents or keep for yourself! Stitch a tissue holder, sunglasses case, backpack pulls, and adorable stuffies! Materials Fee $5
Intro to Filmmaking with Kenny: Students will learn the basics of video production, to understand the logistics and techniques involved in the filmmaking process.
Intro to Photography with Kenny: Students will learn the basics of black & white commercial photography including camera operation, film exposure, processing, composition, studio set-up, basic lighting, and printing.
Lego Creativity with Miss Lynn: Students ages 8 -11 will be introduced to architectural and engineering concepts & terminology, all the while experimenting and creating with a wide and varied assortment of Lego.
Mixed Media Art with Miss Sandy: Join us to explore a variety of art media (charcoal, watercolor pencil, oil pastels, markers, and chalk pastels) as you hone your skills and build an art portfolio of your creative work!
Monologues with Miss Jen, ages 12-18: In this class, students will learn the basics of acting and character development while using classic monologues. Performing, writing and learning about monologues can produce more than just an appreciation for drama and writing.
Musical Theatre Basics for ages 5-8 and 8-11: In this class, we will explore some of the foundations of musical theater performance: stage directions, projection, and enunciation; train in basic improv, song, dance, acting, and character study.
The best part? The fact that our teachers are experts in their fields and will teach to all experience levels. The atmosphere is encouraging and welcoming; students will make new friends while learning new skills that will last a lifetime.
