The illuminate Media Department was established as a way for students to manage and create the media for illuminate’s many media-based needs while exploring opportunities in film, photography, graphic design, social media and more. The Media Department also provides opportunities for students to take classes in all areas of Media Arts, from Graphic Design to Film and Photography, at all levels!
In this exciting new class, Professional Filmmaker Ray Santos will guide students in creating their own short film. Part One (Fall session) will explore the basics of filmmaking and culminate in an original short film. Part Two (Winter session) will dive deeper into these concepts and work on a more detailed filmmaking endeavor. Click here to read more about our instructors!

COVID POLICIES as of June 3, 2021: Our Covid Committee reviewed the guidelines put forward by the Massachusetts Dept. of Health and determined that masks/social distancing would be optional at illuminate. We will continue to use best practices as far as cleaning and sanitizing, encouraging hand washing and hand sanitizing, etc. We ask that students and families respect the rights of individuals as they make their own decisions regarding mask wearing and social distancing. We continue to monitor the DPH guidelines and will communicate to our families if anything changes.

JOIN OUR MEDIA TEAM
The Media Team will consist of any student who has a general interest in helping out with film or photography shoots, or any other event that might pop up during the year. Media Team members have been able to go backstage during shows to take pictures and otherwise join us “behind the scenes” to capture illuminate.
To join the Media Team, all you have to do is sign up. The Media Team may meet from time to time to discuss upcoming projects and students serving on the crew will receive discounts on Media-related workshops!
Media Interns will be required to fill out an application to be considered for many areas of internships within the department. Interns will be given responsibilities for specific projects, such as photography for our classes, film shoots, logo creation, etc.
They will work directly with the Directors to create a cohesive ‘brand’ for our events, from marketing and promotion to media shown during the event itself. Media Interns will be able to receive credit towards future classes as outlined on our Internship page…
