Salt + Light
Salt+Light brings original “gigs” to schools, community centers, youth groups, and more. And it’s FREE!
Salt+Light is Our Performance Outreach Team, whose purpose is to bring thought-provoking and inspirational messages through music, improvisation, Children's Theatre, hilarious original sketches, and more. They have two branches: one where they serve the Community in general (at festivals, libraries, public schools, etc), focusing on themes like friendships, social media, anti-bullying, and more. Their other branch brings inspirational pieces to youth groups and faith-based organizations. In both cases, they also offer Children’s Theatre that takes classic fairtytales like “Sleeping Beauty” and adds a twist – often a message like “how to be a good friend.” All of their gigs, sketches, and performances are interactive, where the audience is invited to participate in multiple ways. This audience participation helps keep all engaged and eventually makes the performance more impactful and meaningful. The team is made up of talented teens who are trained in music, acting, improvisation, and public speaking.
Salt+Light was formed at the inception of the company, and over the course of 12 years it has served dozens of local communities and organizations. In its Community Branch, it has served Public High Schools, Nursing Homes, City-wide festivals, Libraries, and Food Pantries among many others. Its Youth-Group Branch has performed at Christian School Assemblies, churches, church festivals, and Youth Group takeovers from as far as Worcester and Uxbridge to Fall River and Providence. Regardless of the Branch, audiences of all ages are inspired and entertained.
