Our "Shine" branch features Outreach Teams who take their talents to the next level: by serving the illuminate community and our neighbors, and the Media Team has been thriving for years.
This year's Media Team is working on projects like original trailers for our Mainstage Productions (check out the Footloose trailer here), promotional pictures, short form videos, original graphic design, and learning how to livestream events. Over the years, students who have been part of the media team have continued onto successful careers in Film and Photography due to the opportunities they had at illuminate.
The Media Team is coached by professionals, who guide them in the process of editing pictures and videos, designing storyboards and timelines for original films, and assisting as they learn the ins and outs of livestreaming. The longterm goal for this team is for them to be able to assist local organizations with free media needs, something that is essential for the growth of business yet often far too expensive and time-consuming for business owners to manage on their own.
This year, the Media Team has been having some fun and creating their own silly #SubtleShorts as a playlist on YouTube. Check it out!
If you are interested in joining the Media Team, they meet after school hours from 3:30-5:00 on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at Double ACS Studios in Attleboro. You can fill out the application here. Thanks again to the Wrentham Cultural Council for their generous grant which went partially towards the Media Team and partially towards our Tech Team (more on them in the next post!). Their support allowed us to purchase our own livestreaming equipment!
