Workshops for ages 4-8

Musical Theatre Basics

In this class for younger students, Fiona (aka Miss Miriam) will introduce the concept of telling a story through song – how to create a character while also hitting the notes. Acting, music, and basic choreography will all be part of this 4-week class. All classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Playful Poetry

A movement based eclectic exploration into words, feelings and expressions. Age appropriate weekly themes with movement as a focus but also incorporating rhythm, art, and building into our adventures. A weekly poem will be created from our wordplay based upon our experience. Joyful Noise

This class will get little ones moving while exploring music through dancing, singing, games, and even stories! The world is filled with joyful noises and we are going to create some of our own! Workshops for ages 6-12

Simple Sock Puppets

Students will learn how to make silly sock puppets in this fun workshop. They will also learn basic puppetry skills along the way. A great way to put together crafting and playmaking! All classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Workshops for ages 8-12

Puppet Making!

Students are invited to learn the art of puppetry, specifically with regards to creating original and unique puppets. They will be able to take home a puppet home with them. Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Playmakers

This popular class from our fall session is back for a 4-week session for ages 8-12. Students will create a mini-play from start to finish! From writing a script to creating characters to acting it out with costumes and props, they will get a taste of all aspects of playmaking. Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Folk Music + the Tin Whistle

In this workshop, students will learn the basics of the Irish tin whistle: scales, note names and tunes. This class is for children who are new to the tin whistle/woodwind instruments and no prior music knowledge is needed for success! Some of the skills gained will be to learn the fingering in tunes like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” and each class will end with a fun folk song, game, or folk dance!

Mixed Media Art Class

Sandy Churchill has taught visual arts classes for the past 22 years, in a variety of settings, spanning enrichment programs, library events, homeschool coops, and birthday parties. Her programs included acrylic painting, oil pastels, charcoal, fiber arts, watercolor, and mixed media. This class will feature the incorporation of acrylic paint, charcoal, Sharpie, oil pastel, chalk pastel, and watercolor. Different projects will feature three or more types of media comprising a unified project. Come join us for an afternoon of creativity in a relaxed and supportive environment!

Ballet Workshop

Want to try a ballet class without the pressure of performance or committing to a semester-long class? This 4-week workshop will teach the basics while also being alot of fun – yes, ballet CAN be fun. Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Contemporary Dance

In contemporary, students learn how to move freely and give emotions to their movements. It is a great mix of many styles such as ballet, jazz, and lyrical, which helps the students put their own spin on the dance! Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Workshops for ages 12-18

Beginner + Intermediate Tap

Miss Belle and Miss Michelle will be teaching 4-week tap workshops for beginners and intermediates (ages 12-18). These workshops are ALWAYS super fun and fill up fast! Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Light Design Workshop

Learn the basics of Light Design led by industry veterans, Jason and Melissa Lamb. This class will be a two-week 90-minute workshop where students will have the opportunity to explore both hardware and design elements. Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Singing in Harmony

In this workshop Miss Cassie will provide the basics of singing and vocal technique with an emphasis on how to sing successfully in a vocal ensemble with three and four part harmony. We will explore a variety of styles as we walk through how creating vocal harmony has changed through the centuries and will learn a full a cappella choral work as well as several well known pop tunes and the unique ways they utilize vocal harmony. Crash Course in Dramaturgy

Dramaturgy might be where it’s at for teens who love history. “A dramaturg researches the world of the play—such as its historical time period and social issues and how they resonate for an audience today,” says Ginny Anderson, assistant professor of theater at Connecticut College. Student must have taken a Shakespeare course or equivalent. Contact us if you have questions about this prerequisite. Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Leaps, Jumps + Tricks!

Many have the ability to do amazing tricks but are scared to try. In this class we will be breaking the wall of fear and really exploring what our body can truly do through jumps, turns, leaps, and rolls! Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Investigative Journalism: Get the Scoop

Reporting the facts is an art, and Valley Breeze Editor Ethan Shorey will walk students through the process of being a journalist, which takes alot of creativity mixed with curiosity. Crash Course in Filmmaking

Students will enjoy an energetic, exciting introduction to short film editing in this workshop with Juri Love, where they will create original short films in teams during class. Classes meet on Thursdays according to this schedule. Click here for registration info.

Paint Party!

Crash Course in Set Design

Exclusive Puppetry Workshop on Tuesdays: The Luminators Live on TV!

This is the only workshop that will be held on Tuesdays (4/25-5/16), and it will feature select students who will bring episodes of The Luminators Puppet Team to life at Double ACS Cable in Attleboro.
